Ravens expedition to Watch Tower Rock. Have eaten trout from Trout Tarn. No pirates seen on Wild Cat Island. Off to Swallowdale now. Hope Cap’n Duck has left his cave well supplied with grog.

Up here yesterday, returned today to try to sort out the confusion. Today found the ammo box within 10 feet of yesterday's tupperware. As the cache owner suggested that was an old summit log & box, dating Aug 08 to Jan 09 (book 8). Unfortunately during 2010 5 geocaches (inc myself) signed it thinking they had the real cache box. I will e-mail them when I get home with the bad news. I moved the contents into the ammo box. I shall post the logbook to the rightful owner when back in Leeds.

First time have ever been to the Lake District. Doing Cumbria Walk with 3 “friends” and his dad. Already walked 12 miles, 50 more to go. 20 pound bags on our back, me shoulders are killing me!

Why is there rubbish in the treasure box. Very windy and the tarn is pretty. Do not walk any further because the next tarn is a waste of time. Do not eat the crisps they are stale. Rubbish treasure box. Why is the book pink. Rains all the time.

Good morning! I am walking Eric Robson’s Other Wainwright’s route in stages and thought this was an easy leg. Am in the process of revision but thinking about some other parts of the walk it’s not bad – it’s the 66-year-old legs & lungs wot does it!
Brilliant idea , this box – is it an official geocache? I have several caching nuts among my friends.
Anyway, the sun is shining and my dog Rosie is ready for more.

Dragged off the settee kicking and screaming to bring 3 Kendal mint cakes and 2 chocolate rodeaos for our 4 legged friends. After all the fudd, Jordan and Kelsey wouldn’t get up, left to me and Tracy and Polly. Fantastic idea with fantastic views. Long may it carry on. Sorry about the spelling and hand writing. 2nd June 2010-09-05 The box is a fab idea. We were a bit nervous to open it at first but Robbie was the bravest at 11!! Mum thought it could explode!
Matt 13 desperate to eat everything but appeased him with a handful of nuts!
Have left some plasters in case like Clive (Dad) you’re trying out new boots!
We have had a fabulous walk, the sun is shining & we’re all in shirts & vests. The view over Coniston is stunning & the blue box will be what the boys remember!

Mrs Bunce said “This is probably the most magnificent place I have been for views”. I agree.

Another beautiful day, and not too breezy. I’ve come up here with my mum and auntie and have been revising History in my head for an exam next Tuesday. A good idea I think! And I have to say this diary is a rather brilliant idea!

The Thursday Pensioners made it to the top on a lkovely day – all 7 of us.

4th June 2010 – fantastic day – hot & sunny – walked up from Woodland via Beacon Tarn with Chris & Pete. Have left Pete relaxing by the tarn – here to celebrate the big ‘50’ & having a great day.

Endured the walk up, after all, two of us are teenagers! Our younger sister got attacked by a massive three millimetre long bug and didn’t we all hear about it! Dad is sitting a few meters off looking at his map and pretending he’s not with us; he keeps walking off, but don’t worry we don’t let him escape... After all, he has the food!

Hello to Pam, Laura, Ian and Maggie from Dalton-in-Furness. Sorry to have just missed you all. Think I must have been your wild swimmer in Beacon Tarn – water water-lilies gorgeous! Swam for about 25 mins. A noisy ground (crowd?) came and set up home so it was a quick lunch and get dressed to find peace & quiet on Beacon Fell and this wonderful little log book. Views great if rather hazy. A cool breeze.
The Hawthorn trees are in full blossom and really standing out in the landscape. Perhaps we’ll all meet up at Beacon Tarn – or on the fells – keep happy, have fun, enjoy the views

Stephen and Pam Turner finished up to Beacon Fell for “The Best of the Rest” as part of the 2010 “Wainwight Challenge” where members of The Wainwright Society climb all the “Outlying Fells” this week.

Thursday 20th May 2010 1500 hrs
Walking today to raise money for “Fix the Fells” via the Wainwright Society.
My goal was Blawith Knott, which I completed earler. Weather was poor from 1000 hrs. It’s warm now but overcast. Dow Crag, Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam are in cloud.

What a fab surprise. Views absolutely gorgeous, can see 360o as far as the eye can see, warm air and sunshine, Lakes are stunning. Tempted to leave our sheeps skull in box to weird people out, but left bag of crisps instead (also enjoyed chewy sweet). Lots of other folk arriving now.

Here we sit over Wordsworth’s and Wainwright’s land and it’s like we’ve just discovered it for the first time! Our walk from Coniston was boggy but the rain stayed off us and we now have a magnificent view of the Old Man and Langdale and beyond. Heard about the tin but amazed to find it’s actually here. Added to the cairn (superstitious as ever) and now when the OS come round again it might be higher than the official route suggests. One peak down – six more this week to go.

3 geocaching twerps, Ninja Pirate, Windywalkers & Donaldrinho stumbled upon this fine summit after a day’s slavery at Royal Mail. The cosmopolitan nature of the visitors has thus been further enhanced by the addition of 2 of us from Dalton-in-Furness & the other slag heap (Windy) from Barrow. The only disappointment was that there are no cookies left.

Hi! Future reader of this scawesome (scarily awesome) book!
This walk is good but too uphill for my taste!!! My brother and sister Jonah & Eve went in the lake but i didn’t want to because of the frog beast. The native monster of this tarn. It is 5x the size of a normal toad and has 2 inch long fangs that will kill you from the venom on them. But they are scared of the colour blue so wear blue if you’re swimming because even though they live at the deepest part of the tarn they are very good jumpers!!!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your walk be careful not to get stuck in the bog and remember to tell your friends and people you know about the legend of the frog beast so it will live on in the memory of your knowledge!

Spectacular views after the wind had blown the clouds and kids away. Matthew wouldn’t part with his Doctor Who badge (even though he has two exactly the same). So we put in his lolly while he wasn’t looking.
Great idea, we found a similar tin near Alcock Tarn – Grasmere a few weeks ago. It is an opening fro the stream at the front edge of the tarn.

Stephen & Catherine Atkinson decided to camp near here & walk the lower fells South of L. District. All the 'big chunks' you see in front of you we have walked. Now it is time for a different view. Taken photos 360o Absolutely FANTASTIC. I still love the "big chunks" though. Another 5 days to walk these beautiful hills of yours. A really lovely idea to share our moments with you. Stopped raining for ~1 hour.
.... but it's just started again.

Very windy, stopped raining, sun out a bit, lovely walk up here, Rolfie had a swim in the tarn (border collie), not warm enough for me, partner says.
I'm a wimp, might do a skinny dip in Coniston, then again might not.
Lovely up here, can't believe the fantastic views, thought Peak District was great, but this is something else.

Hello! We are the Smiths! We have wandered all over this hill using the wrong paths, but finally got here.
It is very windy and my hair is like a bird's nest.
View is fantastic (but then you already know that).

If you are reading this I am already dead. The grey fox did not meet me and the transfer could not occur. We must flee or project flyswatter will go awry!

Very nice wether. It has very nice lacks. Weve seen a Dung Beetle and weve had lots of sourd fites with stiks. Taken lots of fotose weth our camres.

G'day treasure box!!
I've come all the way from Adelaide, Australia to one of the most beautiful panoramas I've seen. Everything is so green!
I'm particlarly fond of the yachts on the lake, they glide so gracefully, and the fluffy clouds that pass overhead.
Perhaps I will come back some day so don't go away.

My name’s Hannah and I’m here with my familly and some friends. Where enjoying the vue and we’ve just been padaling and we pocked a few tadpoles. We had a picknick and we came for a day to the lake district and we’re having a BarbyQ for tea. I’m 9 bye the way and it’s real fun writing in this. Bye.
