Helen + Nik having a quick jaunt out before heading home to York. Fab views, lovely day - amazing dump of snow on Helvellyn. Looks well nice. Really like the book - write about stuff other than the weather people!

Set off from Coppermines YHA at 8.00am on my way to Barrow via a cross country route. It's been wet and windy so far but the views have been good in the gaps. Another shower is on its way from the Old Man as I write this. The end of the Lake has just disappeared into gloom, better get going!

He made it to the Beacon cairn and looked around to see the golden sands of Morecambe Bay, Peel Island on a misty day,
so he placed his rock upon the cairn
